Analysis of Feedback from Rough Cut 2

1
We are pleased we kept the slow-motion from the first rough cut as this seems to still be a positive point when people are giving us feedback. The toilet shot was in there as a trial, for a potential ending, however we were unsure of it to start with so we are going to remove it on reflection.
2
We have made a few minor adjustments to the lighting in the shots using a change in brightness and contrast during post production so we are pleased that people have changed their opinions on our dark lighting as this was a point that was mentioned a lot in our rough cut 1 feedback.
3
The mirror shot was a shot which we were unsure about in the first place so we have decided to take it out as we feel after feedback that it didn't fit with the flow of pace of our video as well as all the other shots.
4
We have reviewed all of the piano shots in our video and we can't find any points where it is out of sync however we have taken this point of board and will continues to look.
5
We have decided to make the beginning bit before the music starts shorter as we agreed that its current length was too long and made it feel slightly awkward.
6
We like the positive feedback on the effects we have used as they make the difference between the black and white and colour shots more prominent, however we are still adjusting all the shaky shots to smooth them out.

We have a lot less feedback than our initial rough cut, which is also a lot more positive that our first lot of feedback, this means that we have successfully made some good changes to our music video. We have taken these improvements on board and we are going to adjust what needs to be changed accordingly so when we do our next rough cut we will have even less negative feedback.

Analysis of Feedback from Rough Cut 1

1
The Pizza shot in our first rough cut was put there as a test to see how the audience reacts and we have decided not to keep it after looking at our feedback as people don't seem to like it. We also knew we would get comments about the quality of our sound however we will be sorting out this issue soon.
2
We were pleased with this feedback as we had worked hard to ensure that our lip syncing was in time and perfect. We're also glad that our black and white clips look good as we were 50/50 on whether we were going to use them or not, we also knew the lighting in the bedroom was bad so we are going to make an effort to adjust it in our post production.
3
We were pleased that the audience seemed to like the contrast between colours as this was an aim we had to make the emotional struggle between Ben and everyone else clear.
4
We are glad the audience are enjoying the speed of the song with the speed of the video as we wanted this relationship to be obvious and work well. We knew the ending happened very quickly, but this is because it is unfinished not because we wanted it to be like that.
5
We are glad people liked the dropping confetti shot as we liked the contrast between close-up shots and long shots of the party scene. We are also pleased with the positivity surrounding the laying down shot as this is used a lot so we wanted to ensure it was of good quality.
6
The trampoline shots, after reviewing them, are not actually out of focus, we think it may be something to do with the low lighting of these shots to make them seem out of focus, however we currently like the look and feel of these shots to we wont be making many adjustments to them.
7
We are aware the shots are dark in places, but this is the look we were going for.
8
We are pleased with all the positivity on this feedback sheet and we have taken into consideration what they said about the shakiness of the shots so we have gone back and steadied the clips using a tool in iMovie.

Overall, I believe that gaining this much feedback will be extremely helpful for us, even if it will involve making a lot of changes to our rough cut. It is good to get a different perspective of our film from the eyes of our peers as they will give a helpful and honest opinion on what they think is good and bad about our music video. The feedback will allow us to make specific changes to our video to help us improve and make a better rough cut.
